Let me start by saying we created a new record for the most number of attendees to a Bits & Pixels meetup last month with a total of 14 people from 7 different Newcastle Web design & development companies. Not bad! So thanks to everyone who made the effort to come along and especially those first-timers.

The afternoon started with some very casual introductions of the first-time guests and an overview of what the Bits & Pixels meetup is meant to achieve. I’m pretty sure everyone understood the casual aspect as there wasn’t an empty glass on the table. As a result, before the end of all the ‘official’ introductions, people were already discussing with the people next to them what they did, who they worked for and what they were interested in.

For those of you who haven’t had the good fortune of meeting me yet, I’m Waydo – the man responsible for all that is pretty at Newism.

Just a reminder that Bits & Pixels is on again this Saturday, but this time there’ll be an amazing new twist – we’ve got an agenda (of sorts)! That means that we’ll actually be talking about a particular topic, rather than regurgitating everything we’ve read on Digg in the last 5 minutes.

So its a bit late, but here’s a round up of the last Bits & Pixels event.

Firstly it was a huge success with a 100% increase of attendees. We had some really keen people traveling from the Central Coast to meet up so thanks to those guys for making the effort - we hope your trip home and then onto Sydney and back again (what a mission) was a memorable one.
